This Privacy Policy explains how the Demo NS Transportation office ("we," "us," or "the school office") collects and uses information in connection with student transportation, including our text-messaging (SMS) program and the YS Platforms Driver app used by our drivers.
We collect the names and contact information — including mobile phone numbers — that parents, guardians, staff, and drivers provide to the school office in person or by phone during student registration and when arranging transportation. We also keep transportation details such as addresses, routes, pickup and drop-off times, and related notes needed to run our bus and van service.
We use this information only to operate and coordinate student transportation. This includes contacting parents/guardians, staff, and drivers about route and schedule changes, pickup and drop-off details, delays, day-off notices, and replies to their questions — by phone, in person, or by text message.
Recipients provide their mobile number directly to the school office and agree to receive transportation-related text messages. You can reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. See our SMS Terms & Conditions for details.
Our drivers use the YS Platforms Driver app on work devices to see their routes and to share their vehicle's live location with the school office while they drive for us. The app collects the device's precise location, including in the background — for example while a navigation app is on screen — and sends it to our transportation system.
We keep contact and transportation information for as long as a student uses our transportation service, and as needed for our records. You may ask us to update or remove your information at any time.
Information about students is provided by their parents or guardians and is used only to arrange that student's transportation.
